Spider Vein Treatments
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is another option for spider veins or broken blood vessels. The veins are injected with a solution that causes the veins to disappear or become much smaller. Complete correction is not expected on the first treatment. In most cases, 2-3 treatments are necessary.
Sclerotherapy is a microinjection technique in which a concentrated saline solution is injected into the undesired tiny blood vessels using an extremely small needle. Each injection dries out the cells that line the blood vessels with scar tissue so they cease to carry blood and therefore no longer visible.
The veins will begin to appear lighter after each session. Two or more sessions are usually required to achieve the maximum outcome. The appearance of the vessels may continue to improve for up to one or two months after the treatment.
Polaris
The Polaris laser treatment is used to reduce the appearance of spider veins and vascular lesions while using the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
The Polaris Laser combines safe and effective levels of laser and radio frequency energies to remove leg veins and other unwanted vessels or vascular lesions. Both laser and radio frequency have been used separately for decades in medicine and surgery, but the Polaris exclusively combines light and radio frequency for ideal treatment outcomes-improve leg veins and vascular lesions.
The procedure usually takes about 15 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area and requires no down time or after care. Depending on the expectations of the patient, several treatments may be necessary to achieve individual goals.
